"The Fall And Rise of John Elderkin and ¡Moonbeams No Mas!" is singer-songwriter John Elderkin's ambitious sequel to David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album, taking place five years after the announcement that the world will end in five years. "We Waited Five Years" is the start of Elderkin's charming, funny, heartbreaking, and amusing story of a frustrated musician trying to get his "message from the cosmos" out into the world. Elderkin's history with Chapel Hill bands The Popes and Stumble, Atlanta's The Lovely Lads, and Washington, DC's The Public Good inform much of this album's entertaining story. This track features Danielle Howle as Elderkin's future band mate and romantic partner and producer Don Dixon (R.E.M., Marshall Crenshaw, The Smithereens, The Gin Blossoms) on bass.
