Late 80s/early 90s Chapel Hill, NC-based band The Popes garnered notable regional attention through a few independent releases and heavy touring at the time. Renewed interest in the band from a 2011 digital re-issuing of their debut EP, "Hi, We're The Popes" resulted in a one-off reunion show in early 2012. The album was recorded at Local 506 in Chapel Hill at the reunion show and mixed at Old House Studio's original Gastonia location in 2012. The show was plagued with equipment issues, but in typical Popes fashion, the band brought extremely high energy to a totally sold-out house!
