about

"Go There" will always have special place in our memory. Scott Sawyer, who is a wonderful guitar player and composer from Raleigh, NC, brought a PHENOMENAL project to Old House in November of 2006. For three days, engineer/producer Chris Garges got to record some of his musical heroes-- Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers, Aquarium, Rescue Unit, Dead and Company) on electric bass, Kofi Burbridge (Tedesci Trucks, Aquarium Rescue Unit) on organ and flute, Kenny Soule (Nantucket, DAG, My Three Sons) on drums, and Ron Brendle (Frank Kimbrough, Mose Allison) on upright bass. Most recordings on this album were cut live on the first or second take with absolutely minimal overdubs on the fourth day of recording. Oteil Burbridge would later say in an interview that this project was, "The most fun [he'd] ever had in the studio." Here is the album's opening track, Scott's take on the Beatles' "Taxman."
