"The Fall And Rise of John Elderkin and ¡Moonbeams No Mas!" is singer-songwriter John Elderkin's ambitious sequel to David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album, taking place five years after the announcement that the world will end in five years. "Song For Davis Bowie" is a nod to Bowie's "Song For Bob Dylan," in a nod to Dylan's "Song For Woody Guthrie." In this song from Elderkin's charming, funny, heartbreaking, and amusing story of a frustrated musician trying to get his "message from the cosmos" out into the world, Elderkin examines what makes a Rock Star the harbinger of important messages. Elderkin's history with Chapel Hill bands The Popes and Stumble, Atlanta's The Lovely Lads, and Washington, DC's The Public Good inform much of this album's entertaining story.
