"The Fall And Rise of John Elderkin and ¡Moonbeams No Mas!" is singer-songwriter John Elderkin's ambitious sequel to David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album, taking place five years after the announcement that the world will end in five years. "Megaphone On The Moon" is the"lightbulb moment" for the characters in Elderkin's charming, funny, heartbreaking, and amusing story of a frustrated musician trying to get his "message from the cosmos" heard by the world. Elderkin's history with Chapel Hill bands The Popes and Stumble, Atlanta's The Lovely Lads, and Washington, DC's The Public Good inform much of this album's entertaining story (maybe not this part). This track features producer John Plymale (The Meat Puppets, Pressure Boys) as Elderkin's band mate and best friend and Robert Sledge (Ben Folds Five) on bass.
