about

"Goodnight Ocean" is the first Hardsoul Poets release since 1994. The band garnered regional and national attention through touring and independent releases until changing their name to Jolene and signing with Sire Records in the late 90s. "Goodnight Ocean" is from the album, "True Great Geography," a collaboration between members of different incarnations of the band, spawned after a successful reunion show in the spring of 2015. During the summer of 2015, the band recorded the album, which was released in December of that year. The band brought demos of the songs to Old House Studio to record drums and then returned to their respective home studios to record overdubs. The band then brought the tracks back to Old House for engineer Chris Garges to mix.
